Creative Consultant

January 10, 2011

During the most crucial years of Kidrobot I was a member of the company's creative team. We directly influenced concept, design, packaging, production, and marketing on every single toy and lifestyle product Kidrobot produced.
Many of the products that were released during these years have since set industry standards for design and quality. Here is a sample of just some of the over 400+ products that were released while I was involved in the creative process.

The Loves List
Through the years I have had the privilege of meeting a lot of amazing people, people who had amazing talents and were taking risks to do what they loved. For most of the artists I was seeing the same old interviews over and over again, who is your inspiration, what is your favorite color, etc... It got me thinking that there is so much more to these people than what they do for a living. That thought is what it inspired me to do this project.
The Loves List is an every growing list of loves and inspiration. It contains interviews with people about things they love; a person, a place, a movie, an activity, a quote, a color, a smell, a theory, a point in time, a feeling, a taste....anything. No rules. The point of The Loves List is to have fun and have an amazing collection of things that inspire, make people laugh, smile, cause happiness, joy, and excitement. So, what do you love?

30 CUSTOMS BY 30 FRIENDS: An Auction to benefit the Children of Cambodia
After traveling to Cambodia I fell in love with the people. Everyday I think about the amazing children I met and how I could help them. Most of these children lack the necessities of food, clothing, shoes, and transportation. Many can't even afford the pencils and notebooks they need to attend school. So instead of attending class they sell trinkets at the temples in order to survive.
For my 30th birthday I reached out to 30 of my friends and asked them to create a custom toy specifically for this auction. Every cent from the sale of these customs went directly to help the children I have met in Cambodia. With the help of people that I have met in Cambodia, I was able to deliver clothing, shoes, books, paper, pens, and bicycles to children of Siem Reap villages.
Customs were provided by: 123KLAN, Alex Pardee, Andrew Bell, The Beast Brothers, Brian Morris, DEPH, DEVILROBOTS, FILTH, Gary Baseman, ILoveDust, Jime Litwalk, Joe Capobianco, Joe Ledbetter, Jon Burgerman, MAD, Maze23 Brooklyn, Mori Chack, Nathan Jurevicius, Pon, SEEN, Shawnimals, Sket One, SourBones, TADO, Tara McPherson, TILT, Tim Biskup, Triclops Studios, Tristan Eaton, Urban Medium, and Christian Jacobs of YoGabbaGabba!

Travel & Photography
Travel is my passion. And I also love photography as a way to document my experiences. On a recent trip to Mexico for Day of the Dead, I was amazed at the amount of skulls I saw all over the city. I LOVE skulls, so I decided to start a project while I was there and photograph every skull I saw for an entire week. It was a pretty exhausting, but he final result was 420 photos of skulls. They were made of sugar, etched in stone, found in graves, made by kids, worn on faces, and painted on walls – and they were all in Mexico City.
